The Justice of the Peace Precinct 4 Office will be closed Monday, November 17, 2025. The office will resume to normal hours on Tuesday, November 18, 2025.

The District Court Jury Trial scheduled for Monday, November 17, 2025, has been cancelled.  If you were summoned for District Court jury duty at the Lavaca County Courthouse on Monday, November 17, 2025, you DO NOT need to appear.  If you have any questions, you can call the District Clerk's office at 361-798-2351.

 
 

  • Property tax rates in County of Lavaca. This notice concerns the 2025 property tax rates for County of Lavaca. This notice provides information about two tax rates used in adopting the current tax year's tax rate. The no-new-revenue tax rate would Impose the same amount of taxes as last year if you compare properties taxed in both years. In most cases, the voter-approval tax rate is the highest tax rate a taxing unit can adopt without holding an election. In each case, these rates are calculated by dividing the total amount of taxes by the current taxable value with adjustments as required by state law. The rates are given per $100 of property value.

    This year's voter-approval tax rate $0.5497/$100
